The RP Stimulus Package

A Role-Playing Stimulus Package?
What kinda crazy talk is that?
Ok ok… hear me out. Here’s the concept:
You hear a lot of folks say there’s not enough RP going on. The talk of this server or that server is “dying” due to lack of RP. You read it on your realm forums, the RP forums and in-game. The “Un-roleplaying Rate” is up, and there’s “layoffs” in the RP Community.
Pretty much it’s kinda like a “RP Recession”, yes? …or is it?
You get my drift :)
Role-playing is a group social activity we do – whether it’s around a table slinging dice or in an mmorpg. Without others, there’s not much to do, right? That is where the RP Stimulus Package comes in – to help not only you but your RP Community as well.
It also benefits in how we treat others too – being a social activity, it kinda goes hand in hand. In the end, we are all people and we roleplay to have fun.

So you want to make an item: The redux

Introduction: What is Gryphonheart Items?
It’s an World of Warcraft Addon that lets users create user-defined objects that can be used in personal role-playing as props and as RP quest items. These can be shared by others using the addon. This makes it very cool to use if you can get enough folks using it, which seems to be the hardest part. This is similar to Ephemeral, which we covered some time ago.
Thanks to Fethas for the primer you are about to read. Thanks also to the author of Gryphonheart Items: Pilus for his hard work creating this addon.
Further Information and Links will be at the end of the article.

Tinkering With Ablities

If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits eighty-eight miles per hour…
you’re gonna see some serious #!@$.

One of the things that can get static is the same old skills, powers and abilities we have with a character. I was playing one of my alts and I thought, “Let’s change this up a bit!”.
The basic concept was to take the “standard” abilities and give them a twist for both creative and immersion reasons. Worth a shot!
So, you have my frazzled Gnomish inventor/engineer… or “Gearsmith” as he prefers to be called.
Over the years he’s got A LOT of hit or miss inventions that he’s been tweaking and refining since his exile from Gnomeregan, the former Gnomish capital.
I used the Rogue class for this character due to the “everydayish” quality of the Rogue class. I find it very versatile, like the warrior – for a “everyman” sort of template. Of course, I took Engineering readily for more goodies to make later on.
Here’s an overview of what I did with him:
