What is the site about?
It’s about Role-Playing, made simple. RP Made Simple was started to help folks understand a little more about what rolep-playing is and why folks RP. I also wanted to help folks with the how of it as well, since the whole “role-playing” thing can sometimes be cryptic and intimidating.
To many of this looks like extra “work” but it’s really worth it to “live” your character – be it in a pen and paper, larp or online game.
What’s The RP Survival Guide?
The RP Survival Guide is to help folks. It has a three fold purpose.
1) It is here to help new role-players.
2) It is also for experienced role-players to draw from.
3) It’s also for Non-RPers to understand role-playing.
The WoW RP Guides
While there is some Warcraft-focused parts, the guide can easily be adapted to whatever game is out there that lends itself to role-playing. This also goes for tabletop/pen and paper “Old School” gaming. This guide is a work in progress, so bear with me.
Currently I play on a role-playing (RP) server in Blizzard’s World of Warcraft mmorpg, so some/most content will be wow-related. Most of the things however can be carried over and applied to any MMORPG or any other venue for role-play (tabletop, larp, etc..).
Role-playing and character creation can indeed be made easier, fun and rewarding – not only for yourself but for the other folks you encounter. It can also be “mysterious” or puzzling to some as well.
I hope this will be a helpful guide for those wanting to “blend” in more into role-play and into the RPing community – or just to understand what role-playing is all about.

Who is “Sullivan” anyway?
Ack. Time to think for a second…
My name is Brently Harrison, Brent for short. I’ve been role-playing in some for or another for many years. Currently, I live in North Carolina, USA.
I have always enjoyed fantasy, horror and sci-fi and the creative parts about them. Been playing rpg’s off and on since the early 80’s when I was in high school. Basically ever since I saw my first Player’s Handbook for AD&D and my first d20.
I have a soft spot for the Forgotten Realms campaign world and a little hamlet called Daggerford. Been the player, been the DM – the whole nine yards. Having fleshed out characters (even villians and npcs) that have some bite to them has always been a plus for me. I’ve also played in and was a Storyteller for VampCat Productions, one of the longest running indy World of Darkness Larps in North Carolina.
Eventually I came to Turbine’s Asheron’s Call (Thank you Miss B!) for many years as my first MMORPG. Then off to City of Heroes, then currently to World of Warcraft. My first “real” role-playing server, Earthen Ring, which my characters “Sullivan” and “Shaw” now call “home”.
Always remember that there are people behind the pixels out there and have fun. More RP goodies to come!
