Sometimes some folks get a really, really cool idea and run with it. Anyone remember the old radio dramas and serials back in the day? The Shadow, Superman, Flash Gordon, The Lone Ranger? That was storytelling back in the age of radio, before television, dvd’s and most of what we have today for entertainment.
A recent spin on this, merging storytelling, role-playing and World of Warcraft lore is The Draenei Family Robinsuun or The Robinsuuns, for short. Premiering as a feature on the Epic Dolls podcast, it tells the story of a draenei family seeking to stay safe, stay together and “mend a broken world”.

Gary Gygax passed away today. (3/4/2008)
I would like the world to remember me as the guy who really enjoyed playing games and sharing his knowledge and his fun pastimes with everybody else.
- Gary Gygax, on how he would like to be remembered.
(From a 2004 interview with Gamespy)
For alot of gamers and roleplayers, this guy was an inspiration and “icon” for his works in RPGs. AD&D was my first real experience with fantasy gaming and role-playing. E. Gary Gygax with Dave Arneson co-created Dungeons & Dragons, my greatest hobby when I was growing up.
Thanks to Gary and others like him, we have the RPGs and MMORPGs as we play them today. Before console games, computer rpgs and related – we had games like D&D to captivate us and immerse our imagination with friends. Great stuff back then.

Doora: Night Elf. Sans Mohawk.
Normally, I have the General Chat Channel on Earthen Ring far, far (did I say far?) away from my chat tab. I’ll pop it on if I am actually in a city or just bored for a few – never know if someone may need help.
I didn’t expect to see this:
“You see a small, nimble elf girl wander past you, smiling prettily as she gets into trouble. She bears no weapons, never engaging in combat – a pacifist! How far will she get? Will you help her? Track her progress at http://dooraexploring.blogspot.com.”
I thought, “Ok… good use of English, not spamming gold – so not a gold seller.” (For some reason I thought goldies were that clever… that soon wore off. *snicker*)
“Maybe this is something cool?” So… I took the bait:
