RP Mail with Style

Sending mail normally in the World of Warcraft just looks like this:

Normal mail.

(I am using a [Broken Fang] for an example.)

Sadly, packaging items in some games like WoW is limited. We get bow-wrapped boxes for presents and even that is limited if it’s a stacked item. But, with a little bit of style we can dress up a mail message for RPing.

It doesn’t always have to be like this. Let’s kick it up a bit!

First let’s look about the Subject area. When you place an object in the mail item area, it blindly takes the name and places it in the subject. If this is for a RP use or, if you would like to RP giving a cool item to a friend or guildie, we can do this:

New Subject.

Simple yes? What we do is add a bit of immersion and description to the mail “package”. Here’s some examples of descriptions that could be used:
*a small slender scrollcase*
*a large, bulky trunk*
*small wrapped bundle*
*oddly shaped crate*

Until they make shippable “crates” and bags (which would be cool RP-wise), this is the next best thing to personalize an item.

Next, let’s see about a message that works with the idea and completes the “look”.

RP Mail, v 2.0

What we have done here is added a short in-game In-Character (IC) message to the recipient. Also optionally you can add an OOC (Out of Character) message to just say hi or some other OOC note. You can add an additional description to the for the “note” or for the package, like describing a seal or some details of the packaging. Be creative and have fun!

Basically any useful item or in-game messages for a friend or guildmate could be done this way. With a little imagination and a time, we have something very cool for a good friend to have in his/her mail. Have fun with this and use your imagination when sending items or just in-game letters and notes.

It gives some mystery and perhaps a very pleasant surprise. *grin*
